Harland Sanders was born in 1890 and was born on a farm outside Henryville. His father died when Sanders was five, and forced his mother to work in a canning factory. Whenever he disliked KFC’s gravy in a franchise, ‘God-Shaped Slope’ was his phrase. The colonel was a perfectionist and did not compromise quality.
