KFC (short for Kentucky Fried Chicken) is an American fast-food restaurant chain located in Louisville, Kentucky that specializes in fried chicken. It is the second largest restaurant chain after  McDonald’s in the world with 22,621 global locations in 150 countries as of December 2019.This chain is a subsidiary of Yama! Brands, a restaurant company that owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Wing Street chains.

COLONEL HARLAND DAVID SANDERS LIFE STORY

Harland Sanders was born in 1890 and was born on a farm outside Henryville. His father died when Sanders was five, and forced his mother to work in a canning factory. This left Sanders as the eldest son. Care of his two elder brothers. After arriving at the age of seven, his mother taught him to cook. After leaving the family home at the age of 13, Sanders conducted several businesses with varying success. In 1930, he went to the Shell Filling Station on Route 25 in the US, a small town on the border of the Appalachian Mountains, outside North Corbin, Kentucky. Here he was first introduced to the passengers, which he learned as a child: fried chicken. Other dishes like steak and pork. After four years of service from his dining room table, Sanders purchased a large filling station across the street, extending to six tables. By 1936, Sanders had proved quite successful, having been awarded an honorary title of Colonel of Kentucky by Governor Ruby Lavon. In 1937 he expanded his restaurant to 142 seats, and the motel he bought on the street was called Sanders Court and Cafe.

The famous and icon of (KFC)the great brand, Colonel Sanders had several companies under his belt. He worked at a filling station, insurance vendor and steam engine stove before selling chicken from his roadside restaurant during the Great Depression. He sold mixed chicken nuggets with a secret recipe he had prepared. He received $ 0.04 for a piece of chicken. When his North Cabin restaurant closed, he had only a few savings and $ 105 Social Security dollars. The tables were turned and the owners of the restaurant began visiting Sanders, as they were familiar with his cuisine. After learning about the potential in his recipe, he established the first KFC restaurant in South Salt Lake, Utah, in 1952. Following the North Cabin restaurant disaster, he devoted his time to building and upgrading the KFC brand.

Colonel remained the face of KFC even after selling it. He traveled 200,000 miles each year to promote KFC worldwide. Sanders’ image was to demonstrate his determination and perseverance and encourage customers to assimilate the same. He often visited KFC restaurants and tasted gravy. Sanders used to declare that his self-made gravy was so good that anyone would throw away the damned chicken and eat the gravy. Whenever he disliked KFC’s gravy in a franchise, ‘God-Shaped Slope’ was his phrase. The colonel was a perfectionist and did not compromise quality. In 1973, he declined in the quality of the food and Hueblein Inc., the parent company owned by the KFC brand. Took a step against He never developed prosecuted and sold items. A failed lawsuit was filed by Hublin Inc. against Sanders for labeling gable paper wall-paper.

AN INSPIRATIONAL LEADER

Even after being fired from legal jobs and facing many failures, Colonel Sanders always learned from his mistakes and thrived as an entrepreneur. He had to adopt many businesses to survive. Sanders started asking insurance vendors to fill gas stations. After surviving the Great Depression, he created a food chain that is integral to our daily lives. Kentucky Fried Chicken is now part of the food chain in every country. Customer satisfaction prompted Sanders to criticize KFC. Nearly three decades after his death, his image still finds a place on posters and magazines. He is one of the best entrepreneurs to thrive on perfection in his products.
