Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited is an Indian hospital chain based in Chennai, India. It was founded in 1983 by DR Pratap C. Reddy as the first corporate healthcare provider in India. Many of Apollo’s hospitals are already internationally recognized by the US-based Joint Commission International (JCI) and 13 NABH National Accreditation Boards for International Hospitals and Healthcare Providers Hospitals.

Pratap c. Reddy is a cardiologist and an Indian entrepreneur who founded Apollo Hospitals, the first Indian hospital chain based in Chennai, India. He is the founder president of Apollo Hospitals. He was ranked 48th in the list of 50 Most Powerful People of 2017 by India Today. He once recounted how he ran the country’s bureaucracy in the country, receiving an interview at Harvard Business School for Emerging Marketing. He is also the founder of Lanka Hospitals located on Baseline Road near Central Colombo. As of 2020, it has an estimated net worth of $ 500 million.

PRATHAP C. REDDY- EARLY LIFE & EDUCATION

Pratap was born in Argonda, Madras Presidency, British India (present-day Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India). He loves to meditate and pray and is highly influenced by mythology, astrology and deities.

They have four daughters, Preeta Reddy, Sangeeta Reddy, Sunita Reddy and Shobhana Kamineni. They all work as directors at Apollo Hospitals. His grand daughter Upasana is married to Ram Charan, one of the most popular actors in Telugu cinema.

Pratap .c reddy did his medical education from Stanley Medical College, Chennai. He further worked at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also practiced medicine at Boston Missouri State Chest Hospital, USA.

PRATHAP C. REDDY- WORKING LIFE

Pratap is an entrepreneur and a pioneer from a very young age. He made the mistake of cardinal trading while expanding into Sri Lanka. When her two daughters wanted to become doctors, she discouraged them. And, now he wants his grandson to be one.

While working at Boston’s Massachusetts General, he was once being treated by an Indian doctor by an angry patient. He is so humble as a doctor that he requested the director not to take any action against the patient. Later he established Apollo Hospital and Lanka Hospital.

PRATHAP C.R- TRIBUTE OF APOLLO HOSPITALS

Pratap established Apollo Hospitals in Chennai in 1979. He serves as the founding chairman of a chain of corporate hospitals and has 38 owned and managed 13, treating patients from 120 countries. Under his leadership, Apollo Hospitals created opportunities that brought Indian doctors back to India abroad.

He cordially invested in technology and helped the experts to advance professionally. He worked to create a soothing environment in Indian hospitals with a culture of implementation and competence of emergency services.

PRATHAP C. R- FOUNDER OF LANKA HOSPITALS

 

Pratap established Lanka Hospital, a tertiary care hospital in Sri Lanka and is one of the largest hospitals in the country. This parent company is a subsidiary of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.

Lanka Hospital previously owned by Apollo Hospital. The hospital was listed as a branch of Apollo Hospital in 2002. However, in 2006 Sri Lanka Insurance took him to the hospital. The hospital was cordially renamed in 2009, following a license and support services agreement with Apollo Hospitals.
